Friendship Tree - Featured Image

"A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed" - Ansel Adams

I am a self-taught photographer and a mother of two adult children. When I am not making images, I am editing them and when I am not doing that, I am with my family or my cat.  I enjoy ballroom and Latin dancing, reading, summertime and going to the beach.

Photography is my passion. I love making images that tell a story and that others enjoy as well. If you like something, please leave a comment so I know what people are enjoying.

The hi-light of my year is during my shows, where I get to meet many of the people who like my art and my style. Stop back often as I will keep you updated when and where I will be displaying.  As a photographer, this is often the only way I know if someone likes what I do.

Thank you for stopping by my gallery and I hope to meet you in person some day.

  • Workin Man - American Life Series

Accepted at the Ohio State Fair Cox Fine Art Competition 2019 and will be on display this year during the Ohio State Fair. This man was very engaging and kind when I spoke with him. This is how he makes a living, sitting outside an abandoned building playing music for the tourists and hoping for donations.

  • Home Sweet Home

Believe it or not, this is one of the many homes that the people of the floating village in Cambodia live in. We have so many blessings here in America and could never imagine having to live in a boat on the river with snakes all around. This was truly a humbling experience for me to see how some people in the world live.

  • Take Me Away

    Hilton Head Island. Rainy day

  • High Tide (Great on Metal)

    Sunrise in HHI. Early morning.

  • Strings

Using a macro lens made a unique perspective of the strings of my Martin guitar. It allowed me to focus on a very small area of this guitar and made it look as if someone had recently strummed the strings of the guitar. This look of motion is an illusion created by using a low F-Stop and a macro lens. You can do so many creative shots if you learn the settings in your camera and use the lenses up to their full potential.

  • In The Garden

After my grandmother passed away at the age of 98 I purchased these beautiful tulips. It was actually a very cold and wintery day with a huge snowstorm. These beautiful tulips in the middle of winter while grieving for my sweet grandmother, made my day a little brighter. My grandma loved her flowers and nature in general and one of her favorite songs was a Christian song called In The Garden so I felt the title of this image is appropriate in remembrance of my grandma.

  • Winter Hemlock

This beautiful Hemlock tree really showed off her glory one early foggy morning. You could clearly see her beautiful greenery and mini pinecones against the foggy backdrop.

  • Grace

Hilton Head Island. The graceful beauty of this Morning Glory greeted me on my morning walk in HHI. I never tire of walking on the beach and seeing what new discoveries that are on the beach every day.

  • Friendship

New Orleans. If you look closely, you will see two women sitting on the bench underneath this Live Oak Tree. What you don't see is a river that is running in front of them alongside the Oak. These trees remind me of all the beauty that oftentimes gets missed in today's fast-paced society. Take a little time and enjoy your friendships and a little nature.
